Beat Rising Petrol Prices!

With Petrol prices at an all time high, and the outlook that they are set to rise further in coming months, maybe its time for you to think about dumping the diesel guzzler and getting on ya bike!

A good way to decide if a bike is the right form of transport for your daily commute is to ask yourself a few questions:

1. Is your place of work within 10 miles of your home?

2. Is there a safe path, road you could take to complete a daily commute?

3. How much do you spend a week on petrol commuting to work?

4. How much do you spend on Parking fees during the week?

5. How much car insurance do you pay a year?

6. How much do you spend on Road Tax, Servicing and MOT on your car per year?

7. Does your employer offer money per mile for every mile you cycle each week?

Now take a £500 bike and divide it by how many miles you would do a year if you cycled to work every day. e.g.

5 mile journey to work (10 miles per day total), 5 days per week. = 50 miles a week.

50 x 52 weeks = 2600 miles per year.

£500 divided by 2600 = 19.23pence per mile. (Alot cheaper than running a car!) Plus its healthier for you too and good for the environment. Win Win!
